MG Midget and Sprite Technical - A+, Midget box, 1098 flywheel.
Anyone know the best combo of parts for this? I did one years ago for a Morris Minor but used off-the-shelf bits from the garage. What clutch kit is available to take the torque? Any uprated bits? Are midget 1098 (late) covers and plates any better? I went to fit the cover I found on a 1098 flywheel and only then noticed it was a Sierra driven plate. Doh! Hey, and the sierra conversion has 3 dowel pins for the cover! |

Also, having stared at the engine for a while, I noticed that the 1/4 mark for TDC is at 90 degrees to the TDC position and suggests that the 4 extra bolt holes have been drilled in the wrong position. I'd guess that the marks are only there to help with reassembly of a balanced engine? |
