MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Axle rebound straps

Can anyone tell me what the end to end length of the rebound straps are for a '78 1500 ? I think I may have the wrong ones fitted, there is a number 593 stamped on them, but this does not line up with anything in the Moss parts catalogue. Mine are around 9 3/4 inches.
The straps are incredibly tight, but this may be due to new springs not settled in yet.

TIA

Alan when springs are fitted to a car then normally it will be well high. This will last until the car has been on its wheels for a little while and had a run or two.
However the 1500 midget would have longer straps and it could easily be that your are too short and for the chrome bumper cars

The car has been sitting on its wheels or axle stands for around 6 months, initially I could not fit the straps at all, but at the week end with my son sitting on the bumper, I managed to fit them. So over time the springs have settled a bit, I am hoping to get an MOT next week and I want to know if they are right or not.
