MG Midget and Sprite Technical - brakedown cover

Hi, I'm taking my trusty midget to the classic le mans in july.

i'm not exactly 100 percent confident that its a good idea! at present i don't have any breakdown cover.

can anyone sugest a policy which will cover both myself and spouse in any car in uk and france?

if it is a single policy then the company can pay!

thanks
danny

Well if you go with Footman James for your main insurance you get Euro cover and both UK and Euro breakdown cover.

Dont know about the "any car" part.

Most of the big names (RAC AA etc) for euro recovery have surcharges for old cars so can add a fair bit.

RH insurance did fully comp, + green card + recovery + wifie on my jag ('71 xj6) for £88. (limited to 3k)

The AA aren't too far away from that price for just the breakdown?

RAC waive their old car surcharge if you are in a recognised car club, MASC is as I guess are the big two. £40ish for 5 days.

AA won't waive the surcharge, guess who got the business and our joint membership when we decided to merge them?

I used the RAC service in France once and it was excellent though I did have to be a little assertive with the call centre to get them to agree to my cheaper (for them, I avoided them having to hire us a car to finish the holiday) sensible option rather than their expensive silly one.
