MG Midget and Sprite Technical - clutch driven plate orientation ?

This is a question related to a 1275 midget clutch. I have resently restored the gearbox including a complete new clutch however, I can not make the clutch work despite several attempts bleeding the system.
Now my question is if it is possible to mount the driven plate in the wrong direction i.e. the side marked "towards flywhele" facing the gearbox instead ? - and what would the result be ?

Lars, check out a recent thread on the archive (clutch wont disengage), there are many theories and fixes listed, I, along with many others have had similar problems. I came to the conclusion that new parts are not doing what the old parts did (new clutch and slave in my case). Finaly got mine to work by grinding the back of the clutch pedal lever where it contacts with the throttle bar to get more master piston travel. (I also had problems with incorreect release bearing supplied with the clutch kit, luckily I noticed this before fitting to the engine).
