MG Midget and Sprite Technical - clutch master cylinder push rod

1976 midget, replaced the master clutch cylinder, are the brake and clutch pedels supposed to be at the same height, seems the new master cluth cylinder push rod is shorter on than the old one, is this normal?

Mine are both the same height. Both cylinders have been changed.
