MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch problem

Hope for some help I have 1970 1275 midget replaced new master cylinder, slave cylinder, but still having problem getting good clutch fine when I first start up but gradually gets worse the longer the car is running could it be the flexible pipe that is the problem expanding when hot? just a thought

"having problem getting good clutch"

Do you mean a firm pedal? Or is the clutch slipping when hot?

Read the current thread in technical " Bleeding clutch slave cylinder!" You'll find out all you need to know.

"Hi Laurence
My problem is that I seem to have good clutch on the peddle when the car is first started up but after running for awhile it gradually fades so that I can hardly change gear I have bled an re bled ."

Have you tried pumping the pedal, once it's warm and the pedal has faded? If so, what's the result?

Do you happen to know the condition of your release bearing and clutch fork? And the clutch cover for that matter?

Hi Tony,

I got your emails, but could you please reply and post here. Others might find it more interesting that way. :).

Unless you prefer private consultations at the rate of say, 50 quid per answer? LOL. ;).

Cheers.

After seeing Lawrence's technical assistance costs I decided to post a new thread!
In answer to your question prop I have not had to add any extra fluid
Took the car out today and it seemed fine but as I have not done anything to it I am still not confident that the problem will not re occur
As on Friday after driving for 15 minuets I had Hardly any clutch at all
