MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Coil Wiring for +ve earth

I ma trying to fit a new coil to a '67 midget with =ve earth. The present coil has the SW type markings. Anyone know which terminal the white & black wire goes to on a coil marked + & -?
Richard Tinkler

Convert to negative earth it makes life easier.

Just switch the batery terminals and have a go.
Make sure to switch all radio's etc first.
dynamo etc usualy don't need any attention

when you ahve switched the wire goes on the + terminal

Dont quite understand if your car is pos eart or neg earth

Anyway if the car is pos earth then the white and black wire (coil to dissy) will connect to the + symbal and the white wire (ign to coil) will connect to the - symbal
if the car is neg earth then the reverse is true

white and black wire to - symbal
white to the + symbal

As a point of interest if you were to get these connections reversed you would probably never notice it in the many years of future motoring.

When was the change over from + to - earth?

What year?

Just curious...

"When was the change over from + to - earth?"

GAN4/60460 HAN9/72041 onwards were -ve earth.
Lawrence Slater

So that tells me for a Midget the change over was with the Nov. 1967 build date, making it a 1968 model year.

Thanks!!!
