MG Midget and Sprite Technical - converting to 14' wire wheels
Hello the other day I saw a picture of a mid 60's midget that had MGB wire wheels or 14" wheels. Is this a good Mod? the car looked good with these tires and since my 66 has wires I was thinking of doing this, anyone familiar with thes conversion? is it a good thing or more trouble than its worth.thanks in advance Mike |

IIRC, from a good mate who tried this... they fit on the back, but sit a little too far 'in' due to the different offset. I think for that reason they don't fit on the front. |

How about this set up with 15" Healey wheels! Done by Rob Griffiths who is sometimes on this BB. Carl ![]() |

Mike - Gig Harbor, WA. Is that Western Australia, or an abreviation for an American place? If Oz, where is Gig Harbor? I presume America, as Harbor is spelt wrong. |

Wa is Washington state, and Autoroute tells me Gig Harbor is a little place across the water from Tacoma.... |

In Carl's photo, what's the tubular aluminium/ stainless thing just to the left of the wiper motor? Just idle curiousity? It looks to me like its got some fuel hose heading in the direction of the Webers? Is it some sort of swirl tank? |

And while we're asking, any idea where he got the MG oil filler cap? |

Shawn the WA stands for Washington in the USA, Gig Harbor is located near Tacoma, Gig Harbor has alot of Puget Sound around it, It beautiful out here and I love the salt water bays and inlets. It is a part of Heaven here, San Juan Islands are within a hundred or so miles and the islands are amazing, some of the smaller island are boat access only. Mike |

sounds great. |

My 78 Midget has the 13 inch Rostyles. Is there some 14 inch bolt on that will fit properly? I'm always seeing ads for used alloy mags of one type or another pretty cheap - they would look cool, if they fit. |

In Carl's photo, what's the tubular aluminium/ stainless thing just to the left of the wiper motor? Might be a oil surge tank, fills when the car is level and empties if the oil in sump surges away from the pick up, can also give a few seconds protection if you lose your oil too. Andy |
