MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Datsun Hydraulics

This is the adaptor that came in the end of my clutch flexi hose with the Rivergate kit. The hose has two female flares on it and this screws into the master cylinder (in this case a tandem one). The end nearest is intended to go into the m/c.

This is significantly shorter than the flare nut on the copper pipe I've removed and has a female flare not a male one. Any seal would therefore be the thread and the bottom of the hex part and the deck of the m/c.

Am I correct in thinking this is incorrect or am I missing something.

Your thoughts appreciated.

I'd say that the pipe should have a bubble flare rather than a single one and that then the flare will be clasped warmly by the nut screwing it down and squeezing it tightly into the chamfered part.

Do-able but not aesthetically pleasing I would agree.

Seems that pipe mods will be called for

have you asked Rivergate what they normally do?
Bill

I got one too. But I have a dual master. I screwed this one in with the copper washer and the flexihose came with a 90 degrees angle socket to screw on this one. Just enough space to fasten. And a better option then the old flared pipes with nuts that wont ever be on the right angle if you want to fasten them.
