MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Dissolved SU carb jet rubber seal AUD2194

Hi folks.

It had to happen . . . fuel pouring onto the ground from under bonnet. I found the fault - totally dissolved black 'rubber' carb jet seal AUD2194. I replaced those seals with new, must be four years ago, maybe five years. I can only think it's E10 fuel that's dissolved the seal(s). Anybody know if Viton AUD2194 equivalents exist?
Thanks.

Dont know but my rubber hoses have only been lasting a couple of years with modern fuel anyway

I haven't changed those seals in at least 20 years.

Use Esso synergy super unleaded 99 octane. It's still Ethanol free in most of the country. Definitely e-free in London.

If it was 4 or 5 years ago what makes you think it was E10 fuel rather than piss-poor rubbish rubber that has been about for much longer. E10 and higher fuel has been about for many years/decades. What does the supplier of the part have to say. E5 was introduced in 2019 with E5 and E10 being proposed years before.

I can see no mention from the usual suspects (UK suppliers) currently that AUD2194 is either compatible with or not compatible with E10 or E5 or that you need to use any fuel additive, these are UK classic car parts, and MG specific parts, suppliers why is that considering E5 came in Sept 2019 and E10 Sept 21.

Many of us have fitted piss-poor rubbish rubber parts, not fuel related, that haven't lasted months, weeks, days, let alone years.

After 20 years I replaced the cork/rubber by AUD2194 (bought at Burlen). It started leaking from the beginning. I replaced it by a green Viton replacement. No leaks! but an other problem popped up: The jet dit not move back after using the choke.
I use ethanol free fuel now with the original cork/rubber.

But was it the rubber parts supplied by Burlen (not a great company in my experience) or the ethanol in the fuel causing the problem, bearing in mind other places have had ethanol for decades but of course fuels can vary in different parts of the world.

tolerantes (dimensions) were not right. E5 and E 10 was not the problem.

So piss-poor parts, from Burlen(?) not ethanol.
