MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Does anybody have plans for a good windstop???

Do you mean for one of these............

Sorry , I couldn't resist that, things are a bit slow here in work today, too much xmas sprit

Prop, since the midget's engine is apart and it's obviously not generating any wind then the next solution I can think of you might need would be a suitably sized vegetable. LOL
Bill Young

Not to prop up Prop's ego, but ...

I was thinking along those lines as well.

Except I gots no idea as to jes' vas ist ein
windstop??

We see all these nice pix of esoteric brackets
and all, but no picture of an actual windstop
(whatever it is when it's at home).

cc - it's a device to stop the wind getting in one's hair. So now the mystery is not what it is, but why one might want one?

They can be useful to reduce buffeting on long road trips. I bought one of the ones made in Pennsylrainia at the MG event in St Louis a few years ago. It attaches at the brackets for the top, then goes back and mounts the plexiglass above the top boot. If it does not effect a good seal between the top boot and the windstop, they are relatively useless. Mine sits in a corner of the basement these days.

Funny thing David, mine is on the top shelf in the corner of the garage.

Wull, if I had one I'd sure donate it
to D Plumb.

Still, I would not mind actually seeing one.
As in for real, as in installed on a spridget.

I was walking through the warehouse at my second job (appliance store) and there was an old display sign laying there. It became my windblocker. Cost me about $3 for bolts. Cross piece is a hunk of wood. I used the bolts that stick out of the wheel humps. Works well, price was right.

Sorry Prop, I just don't see the point.... 'Wind in the hair motoring' is just what it's all about.

You could of course buy one of the Modern things, as sold to hair dressers that have a wind break...

Or, just put the hood (top) up.

Me, I've had Spridgets far too long now, and now, NO hair..... lol

It's the roaring in the ears that I could use less of as it's very fatigueing. I've taken to wearing foam earplugs on long runs but am afeared of missing something going pop (like when my oilstat blew - I'd never have known to pull up sharpish with plugs in).

So I confess to having had treacherous thoughts about a sheet of plexi mounted in the roof frame holes...

I made mine for my girls with long hair. Their hair whipped around and annoyed them. It reduces that a lot.

Someone I know who has a rollbar made one out of perspex which followed the shape of it and just simply cable tied it to the rollbar.
