MG Midget and Sprite Technical - filter length

Hi:
I need to know the length of the Moss spin-on oil filter conversion for a 1275 Sprite as compared to the original canister type. A picture and description would also be great. Can anyone help?

What does it take to get a response on this list? A bondo question gets 22 hits but a genuine Sprite related technical question gets none.

John, if you ask a question to which I have no experience, I do not answer it.

On my 1275 (1293!) midget engine I use a spin on filter off a Mini or Metro, so do many other people. I haven't met anyone yet (to my knowlege) with the conversion from Moss.

It isn't the people, mate, it's the question.

So, have you asked Moss? And are there no pictures on their website?

The Mini one just bolts straight onto the engine in place of the original canister device. I advise using the pipe from the pick up too.

I don't know about the Moss kit, but the original BL spin-on filter head was the same size as the canister type, but the filter itself is shorter than the canister.

Sorry for sounding exasperated but I am trying to progress with my project car to get it ready for this summer. I have included a pix of it.
