MG Midget and Sprite Technical - From joy to sorrow! car wont start!

Hi again guys! I changed all the foam gaskets on my rear lights and reverse lights! Now car wont start, it turns over but just no spark! Could i have done something with the lights to stop the car starting?

Hey dave, car up and running! nice man from the RAC came out! Im an idiot really; the curly wire thing that goes into the front of the engine was laying on my coil and shorting out!

Back on the road flying round the TT course.

Oooo, that happened to mine too! That's the temperature sender that shorted out your coil. Ended up having to replace the tacho and some wiring since it cooked :(

Be careful with that capilary tube. I fitted a brand new water temp/oil presure gauge the other week and the tube shorted out on the solenoid. The curreent melted the tube and the liquid/gas inside caught fire. Luckily I put it out in time but I have had to send the gauge to Speedy cables to be repaired.

Driving home from midget50 I came in a traffic jam in France. Suddenly my temperature reading was zero. So I stopped at the first petrol station to check. A slight whiff of ether came from under the bonnet. The capillary had sprung a leak somewhere. Now I have to trust on my oil temp reading until I can replace or repair the duo gauge.
