MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Fuel Pipe Routing / Satey

I have some concerns about the routing of my fuel pipe from the pump outlet to the carb. The engine is a marina type still using the original mechanical fuel pump, it just seems a bit too close to the exhaust for comfort. I have thought about fabricating an extension to the heat shield. Opinions welcome.

Ian,
I think that on that style of pump you can rotate the top around so that the pipes would point forward, away from the exhaust.

do away with mechanical pump and fit blanking plate; re-plumb original electric pump and route pipe per factory original.

Guy thanks for that just off to try.
David I don't have the original pump and fittings, I would like to go down this route but cash is a little short at the moment.
