MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Hose clip puzzle

Just fitting my water pump hose last night using daniel's silicone hoses and a set of clips bought from Grove components. Now, on my car the outlet on the water pump is exactly the same size as the radiator and cross tube outlets so I need six clips the same size - 30-40mm but grove supplied 5 that size and one 40-55mm. I checked the Moss catalogue I keep in the garage and found that according to them, the water pump clip should indeed be a larger size. In contrast, the MGOC websie lists all 6 as the same part no.
So who is correct? I feel like I should be complaining to Grove as they package this set specifically for my car.
It's a 1275 crossflow BTW.

can't see this kit on their website so unable to check what they claim. I thought it's the 1500 that has a bigger pump spigot?

it's this one...

as with any information from any source you need to cross reference it preferably with two other sources

I'm not saying it's correct but the Mosss (spit) page here shows larger clip for water pump - http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=1327

standard clips seem to be 25-35mm and larger size 38-57mm

there were two different pumps so perhaps that throws a spanner in the works

On my car I have all genuine Jubilee stainless steel hose clips made in England. There is an ebay trader that sells them individually.

I have a mixture of sizes being Jubilee's 22-30 and 25-35. One 22-30 looks exactly right another looks a bit on the small side. Some of the 25-35s look as if the 22-30s would be a better fit. However, I'll bet that if swapped the 25-35s for 22-30s they'd be more awkward to fit.

The water pump hose is bigger at one end at approx OD of 32mm than the other at approx OD of 29mm which bears out any supplier supplying one larger hose clip than the rest.

odd that Grove list the kit on evilbay but NOT on their own website, I wonder why?
Also, it is no good saying 'crossflow rad systems' when the 1500 is crossflow but uses a completely different pump.

Spoke to Tim at grove on friday and he was basing the kit on his own RWA 1275 which has a bigger water pump spigot.
Replacement clip arrived first thing saturday morning! can't get better service than that.

that's good service and good to hear. One further thought - IIRC the main hose on the 1275 is a simple plain hose, not tapered, so both ends are the same diameter. I am therefore positive the pump outlet and the rad spigot are *meant to be* the same size. I wonder why Tim's pump is odd? Aftermarket part made to a slightly different spec?
