MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Locks?

Does anyone know where is best to buy a set of standard locks (doors, ignition and boot) or a set of Triumph type ones as mentioned in Daniels book?

Ignition key about to snap and none of the other locks actually work.

Thanks, Paul

Thanks Danny, sorted another key but thinking of actually fitting door locks that work -preferably with the same key for the lot.

Door locks on a soft top Spridget?. You're joking surely Paul.. :-)) They will simply stanley knife your hood. :-((

one for the boot certainly

but the rest?

I have had the fullset at one time but as the car has been in use the doorlock retainers have both decided that its more fun to flibber about a lot rather than just lock the doors.

I just use the "steering wheel to clutch pedal" lock to keep the car in roughly the same county as it were parked in and the boot to hang on to my hat and gloves...

Moss do sell the Triumph locks even though they once told me they didn't. The locks are made by Wilmot-Breedon from memory who I think in recent years have been bought by another company.

I've never had a great service from the Triumph specialist Rimmers but I'd expect they'd have the triumph locks. You can swap the barrels to keep your original keys if you want to. On my car I have a single car that fits doors, ign and boot.

I suppose leaving the doors unlocked might prevent a soft top being cut open to gain access or cutting the whole roof off if you've disabled or removed the interior locks.

However, the best reason for using the Triumph locks is they don't work loose and rattle in the door and cause the area around the lock to go rusty.

Thanks Daniel, I will look into that.
As for the soft top Bob, it's in the storeroom, not fitted for years, hard top fitted as the MkIV is the winter transport, and I've gone soft.
