MG Midget and Sprite Technical - LTPW Sensor Light (NMC)

My wife and I have a new 2009 Honda equipped with the new federal mandated LTPW (Low Tire Pressure Warning) sensors, and our first car with alloy wheels. Which we figured to be a good thing. Here's the problem, three times in 2,000 miles/ 2-months time the LTPW warning light has come on. The last time (today) tire pressures down by nearly 9-PSIG each as tested by the dealers (calibrated) gauge, with the tires cold!

Dealer claims change in ambient temperatures effect the pressures, and I agreed if they agree to 1-PSIG for every 10 degrees F. ambient considered. If then, I said it was 80 deg. F. when they last set the pressures, and it was 45 deg. F here today that would be 3.5 PSIG loss, not 9-PSIG. So, I told them either the wheels are bad, the tire insert monitors are bad, or perhaps both. Not taken well by them. We now have a weekly appointment with them to check tire pressures to verify my premise. Anyone with this new LTPW system having this type of problem with their (alloy) wheels, or sensors?
