MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Red jets?

Hi all

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between red and black jets for HS2 carbs?

Cheers

Is it on the back cover of the SU carb set up and tuning book? I know there is a lot of stuff there that helps.

Hi Tony,
According to my Burlen SU Reference Guide, the color of the 0.090" HS type jet head refers to the angle of the float bowl which they connect to.

Black = angled, midget getting the 20 deg, denoted by the additional green (RH) and pink (LH) bands, and Mini getting the 30 deg, denoted by the white (RH) and black (LH) bands.

Red = horizontal (fits neither Midget or Mini).

Fits Triumph Spitfire HS2. Their manifold is not angled at all.

Same colour coding for HS6
