MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Ride Height

Seek and ye shall not find amongst the search results, so can I ask a favour please?

Looking for some sensible ride height measurements - ground to bottom of sill (not the seam) or similar - preferably with photographs. Front and rear.

In my haste to rip my midget to pieces I neglected to measure it, and could now really do with it for deisnging the new suspension! I think that the wheel centres were level with the chrome 'finisher strip' along the bottom of the doors, but that doesn't leave a whole bunch of suspension travel!

Rear - going with lower a-frame and upper links se7en style (simple, neat, suited to coilovers poking up through the floor and joining the rollcage strucutre)
Front I need to replace everything forward of the footwells (including the chassis rails allthe way back to the gearbox crossmember) in order to get this filppin' motorcycle engine in! (not built for midget engine bays at all...)

Cheers,

Ma,

Ride height should be measured from the centre of the wheel, to the wheel arch. If its done that way tyre size makes no difference nor does the tyre pressure. ther are too many variables measuring from the sill to the ground. By measuring as I described you are just checking the suspension height which is what you want.

Sill height ranges from 7.5 inches down to 2.75 inches on my cars.
Cut the wheelarches up higher. You don't notice it until you look really hard and then see that the front edge of the sill doesn't follow the hole for the arch any more.

Height to the sill is actually what I was after - and what that looks like visually. More on a standard shell than a spaceframe mind - don't want to remove the entire floor!

Interesting red Midget there rob and on an Ohio plate too - what's the history?
