Very retarded ignition timing?

Is it blowing water out of the expansion tank ? If so, the tube inside the expansion tank may be blocked with the residue that forms at the bottom of it.
Like you, I replaced everything but did not look at the tank. It solved my problem.
Geoff Mears (1970 Midget)

How do you bleed all the air from the coolant?

You can't just fill up the expansion tank, BTW... I fill up from the top heater hose...

Luis,

Is it possible to put the head gasket on the wrong way around and block some water passages?

on the 1275 that is doable to put on incorrectly and block some passages, IIRC or is that my truck...but all the above are good suggestions.

Luis,
check the timing, I had the same issue with overheating caused by retarded timing. Easiest check is - are the fumes going out of exhaust very hot - if yes, it is ignition timing.

Did you get your cyl head planed/checked for cracks. Get a head check done. TK or similar. This is done while engine is running by taking water sample. It'll detect leakinggasket/cracked head/block. Good luck.
