MG Midget and Sprite Technical - suspension pivot bracket

I have just noticed that the 1500 midget has different upper pivot brackets to the 1275.

Can any one please advise me what the dimensional differences are and what the impact would be of fitting the 1500 bracket to a 1275 car

Which bracket do you mean?

Its the top suspension bracket - 2A5463 compared to CZJ543. My concern is that I am just in the process of building up an e bay shell and I am concerned that maybe the wrong one has been fitted.

Any advise would be helpfull

Yes, I see what you mean.

I hadn't realised there was a difference.

The only reason I can think of for them being different is that they may have altered the geometry slightly to allow for the 1500's increased ride height.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I doubt that M*ss would know what the difference is. Your best bet would probably be to talk to BMH, but that wouldn't be until Tuesday, obviously.

I think the confusion is in how you're describing the bracket. The part numbers you give are for the lower wishbone inner pivots according to Moss. There is no top bracket as such as that's the lever arm.
Having said that, I have no idea what the differences are, and the big paper catalogue doesn't say either.
