MG Midget and Sprite Technical - tire for 1975 MG Midget
I am looking for what tire sizes fit a 1975 MG midget. I am working on restoring it butI am confused about what size tire I need to purchase. The spec. say 145sr13 which can not be found in the US. I found er/78/14 on the tires but that seems like it to big. Can some one help me? Thanks for any responce. |

Yes, they came stock with 145/13 tires. You can use a 155R13 or a 165R13 if you have the RO-Style wheels.!75 seems to be a bit wide for your rear wheel arches unless you massage them outwards a bit by rolling a baseball bat between the lip and the tire. I have 155s on my car. They are Goodyear tires and seem to handle well enough for my liking. |

I have 155's from Khumo (or Cornell if you have a Pep Boys near you). They are relatively inexpensive and handle just fine. A note of caution, if you find 145's be sure to check the DOT mfr. date. even a "new" tire can be too old to use safely. Since 145's are rare, their "freshness" and safety should be questioned. Al |

I just bought "4" 145SR13 at local tire store. They were made by Kelly. Might check to see who sells them and if they can order for you. Dick |
