MG Midget and Sprite Technical - unleaded cylinder head..recommendation?

Hi looking for an unleaded cylinder head standard for 1275cc engine....skiptune one looks good value and assume well engineered as a reputable company. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If all you require is a standard head, and if you already have a 1275 leaded head, why not just get hardened seats in your own? Much cheaper than £345 I would have thought.

And if you want a bargain cylinder head (NEW), check this out.

The other school of thought is to run a leaded head on unleaded until the seats do start to deteriorate - which could take years, unless you are driving thousands of miles a year - then have it converted.

Peter Burgess is highly recommended.

You can't do better than Peter Burgess. He has decades of experience with BMC A and B series engines and will provide a first class cylinder head in standard tune, or performance enhanced. I used his Fast Road head on an MGB and it ran beautifully with considerably more power and on standard unleaded fuel. My current V8 has his Econotune heads which give a small increase in performance along with a bit better economy. Ring him and talk about your needs. He's a really nice bloke and you won't get any hard sell from him.

x3 (or is that x4?) Peter Burgess if you are going to buy one or get one modified, since I've got one of his fast road heads :). I also wonder if he wouldn't be cheaper for a standard one too?

Peter?

Lawrence Slater

excellent advice thank you...Peter Burgess it is then and they seem to be very competively priced too!

Great stuff Cherokeev8.

So how about this one on Ebay then? Anyone here interested? Looks like a bargain to me.

I've been using Fields Engine Services for a couple of jobs (Subaru machining and Midget machining) and am super-impressed with their work.
