MG Midget and Sprite Technical - window frame mirrors?

Bored at work. Googled for midgets.
Found this picture and like the idea of non-intrusive side view mirrors (no holes in pretty painted panels).
Anyone seen the like before?

These mirrors are Chink crap, marked Lucas style on carton;and if mounted as photo will be broken when opening door with sidescreen fitted.Do not ask me how I know!

hey J van,

Moss makes a cool little mirror that clips onto the windshild frame, and is easily taken off and on....dont know much about them, but seemed like a cool idea when I saw it.

That looks like a motorcycle mirror mounted in the windscreen pillar bolt location.

I don't see on in the current Moss catelog.

Should we really be defining stuff as "Chink Crap", not very PC considering there will be loads of new MG drivers from the far east soon, and most of the parts you buy from Lucas probably aren't made in the EC

Hey J VAn,

go to page A-14 spring and summer 2008 moss catolog...middle column 2nd item from the top...called a quarter light mirror...."165-175" ....$40

I was sort of wrong "but please dont tell anyone I said that" ...LOL I thought they fit on the windshild frame...they actully fit on the triangle glass frame...but I still think they look cool.

No quarter lights on a '63. Oh well. I like the fender mounted look too, the bullet ones are nice but putting holes in the fender.....I don't know if I can do that anytime soon. I hear they're pretty useless as mirrors mounted that way anyway.
J Van Dyke

Hotrodders, especially those driving T-buckets and track roadsters, often use clamp-on side mirrors. They are usually attached to the side vent window, but I've also seen some attached to the top center of the windshield. They can be easily removed at shows.

I've got one of those mirrors that clamp onto the quarterlight, but I've never used it as I've just got re-chromed quarterlights and don't want to damage them.

I've also got a pair of the bullet mirrors that I took off the car when I had it resprayed (and re-winged).

They look great, but are totally useless unless you fit them with convex glass, so probably won't be going back on.

Chinese rubbish is very appropriate for these mirrors which are available from Frogeye Spares.

I have the lucas mirrors on the fenders,,,,They do look really cool, and would never take them off, but I agree the the convex style is the way to go, the other problem is its a single bolt that goes thur the fender...so the mirror likes to get twisted alot when ever bumped....I must admit, I perfer a quick over the shoulder glance before lane changes, so dont really rely on the fender mirriors alot other then to keep track of where other closeby cars are.
