MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Windstop

All,

I will try to answer all the questions in one response.

I would have had a single thread but assumed you couldnt upload more than photo.

I have sketched out the various items with dimensions.

The top of the windstop is 100mm below the top of the windscreen frame. It is also 930mm back from the centre of the bottom of the windscreen.

The spacer plate has the same footprint as the top hat bracket and was made from 4.5mm aluminium checkerplate. The large hole is to clear the middle bolt of the hood fixing bracket.

Dimensions of plexi glass shown on the photo. The plexi fits to a length of extruded aluminium into which the large bracket fits. Alternatively, maybe the plexi could by bolted directly to a length of metal or wood.

My windstop came with two sets of brackets - I dont know if this was an error or is normal to suit maybe a B as well as a midget. I therefore developed my final bracket by utilising both sets including welding them together.
The two upstands to raise the windstop dont have to be 90 deg.
I didnt try the pvc straps at all but preferred an engineered fixing for added security.
I dont have a roll bar.

I hope this answers all the questions for anyone considering buying or making a similar windstop.
