MG MGA - 60 coupe resto starts again

I am restarting my coupe resto after a long hiatus . I have had the body painted and completed for atleast 8 years and have had the engine redone at about the same time . I am working on the frame now , sandblasting and renewing paint . I had alot of negetive pressure to make this a holy grail of restores . I have just turned 40 and now relize if I dont do it now I will be needing viagra to get the car and myself started . I was reading the concours thread with the stereo issues and basically thats the attitude that slowed me down . Now I am free to make mistakes and try and finish my coupe . I sure will try and make it the best I can but was not at the factory when built . If anyone is close to citrus co florida and would like to see it and wants a cold drink stop by . www.btropical.com

Hi Karl. Good luck in getting back up to speed on your restoration. I'm sure any mods to your coupe will be classy and tasteful! Finish her up, and get driving. Cheers. Glenn

Karl,
Remember, it's your car. Whatever you do to it, you only have to please yourself. We often get hung up on this BBS and in our clubs with details like: is it restored or refurbished, is it concours? I have nothing but respect for those who spend months and years doing nut and bolt, better than factory, restorations. But I have the same level of respect for those guys (and girls) who build or maintain cars that they can hop in and drive. And I always enjoy seeing those unique cars that the owners have made into a personal statement. So many projects never get completed because we are waiting for the resources to do the job better than what we really want.

It sounds like you are well on your way to building your A the way you want it. Keep up the good work.

Bill

P.S.
At 40 you should have a lot of miles left to drive.
