MG MGA - Bearing Material

I have a book about the theory and practice of bearings used in combustion engines. It is a publication of GLYCO (German firm?. In the book there is a table with various materials and alloys used for this kind of bearings with many of theire characteristics.
Do someone of you knows what material or alloy was used for the main bearings in the original MGA-1500 motor? And what material is used nowadays as spare bearings for the MGA motor?
Just to know!

Ball bearing are typically SAE 52100 and have been for many years (the same since before the 1940's) This is basically an international grade similar composition in us, germany france italy japan .....

There is a german equivelent DIN100Cr6, I don't remember the British designation.

Tappers are typically carburizing grades 4118, 8620...

Modern hub units are typically a modified 1070 (especially for GM)

Hope that help

My old manual says for the MGA 1500:

Mains
Steel backed whitemetal
Camshaft
Steel backed whitemetal
Big Ends
Steel backed lead/indium

I remember my first rebuild of a 1622 engine I used 'Glacier' shells. Steel backed aluminium/reticular tin. Made by Vandervel I think.
