MG MGA - best car cover

This is a mundane question but does anybody have a car cover they prefer or recommend.

Car will be stored indoors. However I have three little boys whose toys and bikes are nearby (not next to but nearby)so scratch protection is very important. Its humid here too so moisture can be of concern.

Thanks,

Tysen

I've tried them all at one time or another on my 1960 MGA-1600 or my 1969 or 1970 M.G. midgets between 1962 and 1980-something! NYLON (Cheapy)- lasted only a few monthes then disintegrated due to NOT being UV-Resistant material! (San Diego gets 12 monthes of SUN!) NOT RECOMMENDED! COTTON (Cheapy-Lightweight-NOT WATERPROOF) - OK to keep HEAVY DUST off the finish, but "POWDERY DUST" still got through the "pores" in the material. Better than nothing & OK for hiding my EXPIRED PLATES (Except in New York where the LAW says you have to have a PLASTIC or GLASS CUTOUT AREA so they can SEE YOUR EXPIRED PLATES & TOW IT AWAY!). Cats jumping up on the car and digging in their claws eventually ripped these to shreads in 1-3 years! WATER-RESISTANT HEAVIER-DUTY COTTON/POLYESTER -Water-RESISTANT is NOT the same as WATERPROOF! Still a whole lot better than nylon & lightweight cotton. Kept the BIRD DOO-DOO off the paint at least and worth the money for that alone. (SEAGULL "STUFF" can EAT THROUGH 6 COATS OF HARD-RUBBED LACQUER AND TWO COATS OF "RED LEAD" and START RUST SPOTS in SECONDS as I can, unfortunately verify!). LIGHT RAIN - OK, HEAVY RAIN & VERY FINE "POWDERY DUST" GETS THROUGH! Took cats an extra year or so to claw their way through. MULTILAYERED QUILTED-LOOKING COVER - really thick HEAVY REAL WATERPROOF material and somewhat hard to put on, MOST EXPENSIVE ONE (OF COURSE!) BUT WORTH IT & THE ONLY ONE I RECOMMEND! In parking lots the "Door Slam Test" gives a DENT, but NO CHIPPING! OK for OUTDOOR USE, but be sure to CLEAN THE CAR FIRST lest you have THE WIND WHIPPING THE CAR COVER & SANDPAPERING YOUR FINISH with the DUST you didn't clean off! Figure 5-7 years life OUTDOORS and cats only left SMALL CLAWED OUT "TUFTS" ABOUT "PAW-SIZED"!I'll put in plug for our local San Diego "COVERCRAFT", lots of guys also liked the "M.G. MITTEN" brand.

I bought one of the Moss Ultralon covers recently. It it well made and very substantial. I returned it because I wanted something thinned so it would roll up smaller. I'd say the Ultralon was about average size when rolled, certainly smaller than the duravent-type covers. It would probably be a great cover for you, offering both scratch protection and water resistance / breathability.
