Does anyone else have experience with this guy? I bought an ignition switch from him 6 weeks ago, which has now developed so much slack in service that it keeps losing its internal contact as I am driving along. Twisting the key brings the contact back sometimes, but it's quickly getting worse.

I called the guy, and he claims that it's all my fault and that he offers no guarantee on electrical parts even if they are new when sold. To me it's just a really inferior part, even if it does have Lucas witten on the key.

Is his service always full of such cr*p? And am I right in thinking that he does have to offer a guarantee?

I don't have experience with him but I do think he should (legally) offer guarantee on a faulty part.

Did you discover the cause of the fault? I can imagine that a simple ingnition switch should be repairable?

That said, anyone boasting to specialise in TR7's for 20 years is to be seriously suspected!

Most interesting Dominic. A replacement Lucas pull-twist-pull headlight switch I bought a month ago is 'shorting' on the first pull, intermittently bringing on the headlights with the side lights. Speaking with some of the guys on the Le Mans run there was a concensus that many Lucas items have dipped markedly in quality over the last few years.
