MG MGA - Clausager Original MGA

I have been trying to track down a reasonably priced copy but have had no luck. Does anyone have an extra copy they might want to sell for less than a kings ransom?

Thanks
Jeff Bennett

Check out Abbe Books on-line. They have book sellers from all over the world and I have found used books in very good condition for a fraction of the new book price. Good luck! Cheers!
Robert Maupin

Thanks Robert. They have it for only $9.32. Now if only I could read German I would be all set! The English version is $67.38. Better than most others I have seen but still a bit pricey.
Jeff Bennett

Brown and Gammons here in the UK has it listed at £16.99 ($25) plus postage.

The B&G copy is possibly the soft cover version. The hard bound version would probably cost more.

Mick

Spot on. I just checked with them, it is the soft cover.

I see Amazon.co.uk is listing them at 176. I better put mine safely with my collection of master cylinder caps.

Hi three years ago I only paid 25 from Amazon, why is it so much now, is it no longer in print, as Malocolm says it had better join tool kits, pumps etc in the safe lol, by the way car has just departed on the back of a trailer so now on route from Truro to Lenham cars in Kent so you may spot it, funnily enough the rear brakes chose now to lock on solid just as though it didn't want to go

O.X.!

I found a cpoy at (allmotorworks.com) for $40.00! The shipping adds considerably to the total cost but it's still half what I found elsewhere....about $65.00. I can't believe this book as gone up so much. I paid $28.00 at a car show not that many years ago. Wish I had bought all of them....had I known. Anyway, maybe this will get you a copy at a more reasonable price. Good luck!

Sorry...

Bad link. Try this one instead-
(spebarthelemy.com). Good luck!

They seem to come up on ebay uk quite regularly and don't go for the exhorbitant prices mentioned above .

Jeff--

Go to http://www.bookfinder.com/search/?ac=sl&st=sl&qi=wHK2JVXVxfGKJHVejK1fputeVv8_9626106697_1:27:139&bq=author%3Danders%2520ditlev%2520clausager%26title%3Doriginal%2520mga . You'll find new paperbound editions for $25 including shipping and hardbound volumes for about twice that.

Correction: ecampus.com is shown on the bookfinder.com site to have the hard cover edition for $31 including shipping. That's more like it!
Ken Korey

The problem is when you go to ecampus.com they have no stock. They say they will order it, but it out of print.

Got it from Brown and Gammons. 17 pounds or about $26 plus shipping.

Beats $100 I have seen on Amazon for a used book. Thanks for your help.
Jeff Bennett

Yes, I see the problem now, Mick. I did notice that amazon.ca is accepting pre-orders for the book now, something that they do only pre-publication, which suggests that the book will be soon reprinted. We can only hope, since sellers holding the small remaining stock are asking outrageous prices.

I've just checked my copy. Softback version published by Motorbooks in 2003.

I still have the payment slip inside - bought in 2004 from an Abebooks supplier in the US for £7.50 - shipping was an extra £2.50. Seems like a bargain now.

I would wait for the reprint - it's a great book, but not worth £100.00

Good luck.

Richard.
