MG MGA - Fuel pipe route

How is the fuel pump discharge pipe routed from the pump end - does it run inboard or outboard of the rear spring mount?

I saw those pics Giovanni, but I need the view of the pipe going forward from the pump to under the floor.

Fuel pipe runs against the inboard side of the frame tube. Do not run any service lines underneath the rear spring shackle or any other point om the frame that may be used as a hoist support or jacking point.

feul line goes from outside front leaf spring mount

then over leaf spring 180 degree turn on to pump

Are you sure that's original? I thought it went entirely inboard of the frame fail out of harm's way without going through above the leaf spring.
Barney Gaylord

Gday Barney ,no not sure if original but it is the way both my cars were when I bought them. I am putting a 1600 roadster back together now thanks to your site, this BBS and photos I took while dismantling. Bob

Mine goes over the spring and runs outside as well. Appears to be original.

There must have been a hicup in the time-space-continuum. I think I forgot to shut down the picture up load window and over wrote the first file with the second. Here is the correct picture showing the routing over the spring and running outside.

Todd Clarke sells a very nice booklet showing all routes of pipes and wiring loom.

John, -- You should fix that wiring harness before it shorts out on the spring mount.

B Walker -- I forgot to mention, I have changed my leaf springs a couple of times, and I didn't have to move the fuel pipe to do it. Perhaps your spring front mount bolt is wrong end around.
Barney Gaylord

Could be Barney I am often guilty of not thinking of the orientation and pay the price later. BW

Barney,I have now routed my pipe from pump, between the spring and frame and outboard of the front spring mount.
I don't see any conflict with the pipe when replacing a spring.
