MG MGA - Got My New Number Plate - Woohoo!

I just got a replacement number plate from Serge in Belgium, it's gorgeous!

Sorry about the poor resolution, I took the picture with my phone. I'll try to get a better shot with my camera later.

Very nice. I think that there could be a good market for "good" copies of these plates as I have searched in vain for an authentic E-type plate. There are a few different types originally but there is only 1 copy type!!

Serge - Any chance of making an e-type one if I can find enough interest?

Very nice plate and stamping.

Neil, I don't believe Serge belongs to or monitors this forum, I have sent you an email with his contact info. As far as I know he only does MGA plates, but he might be persuaded to branch out. Good luck.

Hi Larry - yes they are good aren't they - got mine earlier this year when Serge used this site . cheers Cam

Hi Larry,
Did you change the engine number, or get another engine?
Peter.
P. Tilbury

Hate to be a spoilsport, but the plates were never stamped as neat as that..just roughly lined up, and bang!
Gary Lock

Hi Peter, no I used the same number that was on the original plate. Obviously, I won't be able to ever advertise it as "numbers matching", but I can live with that.
MGA Larry

Hi Gary, Yes they are perhaps too neat - and engraved rather than stamped - but I like mine and no one looks as close as the photo anyway - I had tried stamping my own but it just didn't look right - cheers Cam
Cam Cunningham

I have to agree that they are a tad too neat and even, but at least it will look like brand new once the restore is done. While concourse would be nice, I'm going for the "just off the showroom" look.
MGA Larry

Larry,
If your plate had the engine number that corresponded to your "new" engine, wouldn't that then be a matching number?
Peter.
P. Tilbury

Todd Clarke used to make these as well, I think.
M. D.

Ah, but that would be dishonest, wouldn't it Peter?

Besides, I can always get a replacement engine number plate.

Neil, I just found a Jaguar chassis plate on eBay's UK site. It's for an XK140, but the seller might have access to E-type plates. Here's the link:

Good Luck
