MG MGA - Intake manifold question

Hey all,

another question, this one about the intake manifold. On my car, a 1600, the two "studs" on the manifold, that protrude straight up, are hollow. I realize that they hold the cable bracket and heater pipe in place. I have to assume that the vacuum sources are connected via a hose or pipe to something, somewhere. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks again, Tom, still at it!
Thomas McNamara

Do you mean the vacuum feed to the distributor?
That comes from the main body of the rear SU.

Hey Mick, no, not that one. I got that connected yesterday from the dizzy to the rear carb. I'm talking about the two studs, on top of the intake manifold that hold the cable bracket and heater pipe. On this car they are hollow and I am confused as to where/why they connect. Perhaps an earlier modification? Cruise control? PVC valve? Regards, Tom

I think Thomas means these studs that secure the brass valve scep plate. Picuted below. I for one have never seen them hollow.

Hey R.J., that is the two I am talking about. I guess I will "cap" them off. can the manifold be from a different car? Maybe if I add a cruise control..........
The adventure continues, Thanks, Tom
