MG MGA - Interiors
I am replacing the interior of my car and am wondering who to use for carpet and leather. I have samples from Moss and Heritage and am not sure who to use. Some thoughts on what people have used in their cars or seen in others would be a big help.

Take a look at the Scarborough Faire Woolon carpet kits. The quality is pretty good and you might compare prices.

I used VB's complete interior kit and was very pleased.

I recently purchased a Scarborough Faire leather seat kit for my coupe. I haven't installed it yet, but the quality looks excellent. Regards, M.D. '57 Coupe

I installed my interior from Scarborough Faire about twelve years ago, was very satisfied with it then and it still looks good today. Last fall I installed their Woolon carpeting in my TD, very nice. Marv Stuart

Regarding SF's Woolon Carpeting - does anyone have any long term experience with it? I am wondering specifically if it retains moisture, because it is a blend. I would think that OE wool would breath/dry quicker than a blend. Any thoughts on this? M.D. '57 coupe

I used all Moss components in the interior of my '57 roadster. It fit well and was of very good quality. I am very satisfied with it. Ralph

Can anyone provide web site and/or phone number for Heritage. Thank you. Roy

I can heartily recommend NOT to use wool carpets. Nylon can't be beaten, and looks just the same, doesn't smell when wet, doesn't rot, dries quickly and wears very well too.

Thanks Dominic. That's what I needed to know. M.D. '57 coupe

Fair warnning about Heritage Trim, I placed my order last March and didn't receive it until September, with plenty of bad promises in between. You will get excellent quality but plan far ahead. Ken 60 Coupe

My experience is the same as Ralph's. All-Moss interior, no complaints (well, the gray piping is a *little* dark). Excellent quality. Pictures on the web site. http://zippo.homelinux.org/mg/

I, too, have a Moss interior and I am very happy with it. So...the moral of this thread is that there are several sources of quality interior kits. The reason I bought the Moss kit because that it was on sale through LBCarCo. Interior kits seem to go on sale in the spring, so you may want to wait a month ot two. On sale it was just slightly more than half the price of the Heritage kit. My thought process was that in seven to ten years it will be time for a re-paint and I'll get another Moss interior kit to go along with the new paint.

I just got a copy of the new Moss MGA catalog in last night's mail and it had an announcement of an upholstery and top sale, so Spring must me here! The crocuses have been up here for two weeks. :-)

Do any of these places sale the armrest by itself? I see where Victoria British Ltd sells a leather armrest kit for $125.00 which in my opinion is high.. Oh, where would I buy the rubber seal for "Weathershields" window curtains. I have a pair that are in great shape but are missing the seal, windows and mounting hardware.. thanks Mike

Mike...I have seen where a number of seals were replaced using the main seal for under the windscreen frame. Surely a local shop can fix you up just fine for the armrest kit. Cheers

I used the Moss interior including complete seats. Checking cost difference it was the only way to go. The quality is quite good and installation straight forward.
