The A is in need of a full restoration and has been in my father's shed since 1989 after he bought it with the intent to restore it. The reason this car was never completed is covered by the web page "5791 Day Restoration" Google 5791 restoration and it should appear. As you can see from the photos the MGA being unburied is the 1500 with the 1600 sitting behind it. This car is very complete just pulled apart. If you would like to see any particular parts please let me know and i will post a picture. I have already taken 60+ photos. Anyway this car. MGA 1500. THE GOOD. As you can see from the photos the 4 corners of the car and the chassis is in good shape. A little dirty and multi coloured but the profile of the front and rear are smooth and complete. The photos of the boot internal show no rust. The internal shots of the engine bay show the panels to be smooth and when stripped and painted to be good. The photo through to the rear axle shows it complete, plus as a bonus the second battery tray still exists. The windscreen frame is complete but the screen has a crack in the bottom left corner. Most original parts are included as you can see in the photos spread on the ground or in the yellow crates. The seats are there as well as the bases and tracks. The engine and gearbox and drive shaft is there. I drove this car (not on the road) in 1989 before we pulled it down. The engine and gearbox will require a full re-build. The suspension and steering is complete. There are a number of new part which I wont completely list but does include the following, a cloth wrapped 1500 wiring harness, dash knobs, suspension rubbers, sundry rubber grommets, minor wiring parts, new A and B door pillar repair parts for each side (can be seen in the photos lying on the bonnet)etc. THE BAD At some point the top of the chassis goal post had been cut and modified. You can see this in the photo of the fire wall shelf. This is a simple fix to move the metal work forward again. We have a replacement fire wall shelf to replace the cut body work. As typical of most MGA restorations the rocker panels and door posts need to be replaced. New A and B door posts are included. I brought these back from England in 1992. The bonnet is a fibre glass skin over the bonnet framing. I have attached a number of photos.
