MG MGA - MGA Coupe Barnfind
Guess I am now an MGA owner. '58 Coupe in storage for 10+ years after having the body sandblasted and primed. Stored well and primer has held up great. Many new parts, rebuilt engine (dont know what the condition is now). Came in the Florida Green BMC color. Is there an MG name for that? http://leylandauto.multiply.com/photos/album/6 The fenders in front are pretty beat but the rest of the car was alredy done quite well. Frame/floors/sills etc. Should be a fun product. Good car to add to my four B's and BGT's. |

Lovely cars, those MGA coupes! You know's going to happen now don't you? I can see it, the future.... it's.... it's.... it's a MGA roadster! |

Good luck, Carl. Just finishing a restoration of a '58 Coupe, myself. It has been a fun project. Mine was very, very similar to yours, having been stored for 20-odd years following a stalled resto attempt. Be careful, do not take the previous project manager's work as absolutely correct. Buy a few good reference books (esp. Clauseger) and go to it. Looks like the color might be Island Green, unique to the coupe, but you can check this on the serial number if it is original. I recommend getting a Heritage certificate if you want to go for originality. This will provide the build specs for your particular car, including the original trim colors. What, no MGC in your stable? |
