MG MGA - MGA Engine colour
Hi Guys, I have the engine out of my 1960 1600cc A coupe, I want to paint it before the refit, at the moment it is deep red. Anyone know the correct colour? Kind regards Colin.

Colin: International paints (used on boats) do a maroon that is pretty bclose to the original red. john

Hi Colin, MGA Maroon is supplied in tins or aerosolspray by Moss - I have used their aerosol spray on engine ancillaries - Dynamo, thermostat housing etc. which works well. I think Frost also have the correct maroon- cheers Cam

Hi Colin, I had the same problem when I rebuilt my MGA. I used a colour called "Bisque Red" It's a Renault colour off my then Company car (Laguna) that any body or paintshop can mix on ANY colour scheme. I went through an awful lot of colour chips and this colour is almost exact. To clarify, please go to my rebuild website on www.allden.co.uk Regards, Ray.

Hi The Moss paint fades after a while, I've painted my engine in 2 pack paint. The colour is Rover Richelieu Red. Its a very close match to the original and shines like a pin, it can be brush painted Regards Terry
