MG MGA - MGA V8 On Ebay

Nice looking MGA V8 conversion on Ebay. Not seen this one before. Shame there are no pictures of the engine compartment.

Hi Steve, Yes I saw it as well and seemed to get deja vu - so I'm sure it has been on before. Nice looking conversion - wonder how it drives? - pretty scary with all that power - cheers Cam

Yes Cam, I thought I had seen it before too.

Steve, not just a shame, but strange considering that the engine is the one thing a potential buyer for such a car would want to see most!

Hi Steve

Its Warren Kennedy's car. Warren restores classic cars in Marston just down the road from me.

It is a very tidy conversion with lots of other interesting parts as well. The car has been to a number of MGA events including Waddsdon and doeas appear 'for sale' on a regular basis.

Yes as the ebay site says it was in a number of magazines several years back and for sale then. Interesting work to body as I recall including logtitudinally slicing the fenders/guards to widen them and fully customised front and rear suspension. One thing I did notice this time is a very very big drop from the initial price he was asking for several years ago. Just shows that you restore/play these cars not for profit but for the incredible enjoyment and sense of achievement (but we try not to recall those frustrating moments when things go wrong). Amazing how many MGA V8s are out these now, I know of at least 8 now, one dating 40 years using all sorts of engines,

I noticed that it has now gone over £20k and still not reached its reserve - I wonder what price he puts on it? - cheers Cam

Seem to recall at one stage he was looking for over £30K, perhaps even closer to £40K. Been trying to sell(?) for some time now.

Yep Warrens car was finished a good while ago, did I first see it at Silverstome MGCC more than 4 years ago At my age time is a complete blurr. :-))

I am sure the last time I saw it for sale it reached 37000 and did not sell.
Didn't Warren cut the original car apart and widen it to built this?
Robert (Bob) Midget Turbo

Just spotted it for sale at £40,000.

It made just over £30k last week and didn't reach its reserve. It is now back on ebay with a Buy-it-now of £35k.
Cam Cunningham

Gordon should be able to afford that with £3,888.88 per reduction geabox across on the 'Tools etc' thread.
