MG MGA - MGB Seats
Well folks they are mgb seat, and they don't fit! Especially with the Todd Clarke seatbelt system. So any suggestions New seats? EBay seats? Mazda Miata seats? Other. This is a driver only car (headreasts would be a nice saftey feature) Russell |

Miata seats are excellent in a Coupe but you will find in a roadster they will not recline very much and won't be very comfortable. I can't remember ever seeing headrest style seats in an A roadster without a lot of modding. Mark |

Most newer style seats with any type of shoulder support may well have clearance issues with the upper cockpit surround near the C post. At least that's what I found when I tried a set of late model seats in both my A and midget. If you go with a headrest seat, remember you will have to have the tonneau modified if you have one. Hard to beat a rebuilt stock seat for an A roadster. A good upholsterer should be able to stiffent the seat foam and padding along the edges to give the more secure feeling as modern seats have while still retaining the stock look. As far as a headrest goes, one A owner here in the KC area came up with a removable streamlined head rest similar to those used on racing cars of the 50's. Made it up with foam and fiberglas and it just clips over the rear cockpit rail. Looks neat, and just slides off to use the top or tonneau. |
