MG MGA - more parts needed
Hello all - I'm looking for 4 wheel backing plates for this 1500 under restoration. Haven't seen any on EBAY so not sure if they still exist. Please send details to KQS44444@gmail.com and advise condition & price please. Are they all the same for 1500 & 1600's or does it matter? Many thanks. Kathy

Kathy- This is making no sense! Are you saying you have a 1500MGA with drum brakes and all 4 backplates missing, whist having a barn full of drums? All 4 are different parts, frt/rear and handed. 1600 rear are the same, but 1600 have front discs. FRM

Hey FRM - Good to hear from you again. I guess my grandad just figured brake drums were a wear item and he should hoard them. He also saved about 150 tire tubes, why, who knows! We ended up with TF A-pans & side rails that bolt to them. Actually, we have a 1500 frame, motor and gearbox and my sons are putting a fibreglas 'Dover' body on it. Now does that make sense? I guess these parts are haed to find, nobody has offer up any as of this post. Kathy

I don't know where you are in Ohio but I am in Pittsburgh and I am sure I have both the front and rear backing plates for the brake shoes and wheel cylinders. I am not sure what they are worth and I don't understand how you could loose them.

I wonder if she means a Devin body....? Now that would be interesting.
