MG MGA - Mountney boss wanted

Anyone have for sale an MGA boss for a Mountney steering wheel? It has 6 holes on 100mm pcd.
I can swap for one for an MGB.
Thanks, Peter.

OK, I'll bite, what's a Mountney steering wheel?

Mountney is / was a steering wheel manufacturer. I once had a midget with a Mountney wood/aluminium wheel, no idea if it was original. Restored the car from a crash victim, it ended up with the girlfriend of the time.

If you are talking about the unit that fits over the steering column splin and has a bolt that holds it to the steering column, which the Mountney steering wheel mounts to (and has the Mountney screw/nut pattern)...I need one too! I have a nice Mountney that I used on my B and on my TD(which is for sale now), but when I take the A's steering wheel off, everything comes with it, being one piece. The Mountney is smaller dia., and at 6'/200, I enjoy the room, and the "familiar" feel of the leather. For shows I will keep the original wheel in the trunk, and swap it out. So Pat, if you find a supplier, let me know too.

This from the Direct Car Parts UK website:

Mountney boss kits are available for most non-airbag cars. The Traditional range of boss kits are designed to fit cars upto and including the late eighties. The newer M Type boss kits are suited to later cars. Mountney boss kits also fit Momo and Sparco steering wheels as well as other quality steering wheels. We now also stock a quick release hub so that the steering wheel can be easily removed making a great security system!

Joe,
My Mountney wheel looks like yours, only that it has 6 holes in the boss where yours has 8 holes. The boss is the centre piece that slides on to the splines of the steeering column, and the boss/wheel is fixed by the large nut on the end of the column. (There is no bolt through the boss/column.)
The MGA boss has a 3/4" spline diameter, where the MGB has a 5/8" dia spline. Hence the B boss will not fit the MGA.
GT - thanks for the lead to the Direct Car Parts site. I emailed them earlier this week but have not had a response, so have to assume they do not do a boss for the MGA. The "quick disconnect" boss does not fit my Mountney wheel - only later ones.
Now I'm looking for an old stock wheel to make the stock boss fit the Mountney. (see a new thread).
Cheers, Peter.
