Hi Kemper. I clicked on the link, started viewing the picture and burst out laughing, hysterically! Tears streamed down my face as I looked at the photo. Your bride seems to have been amused also, judging from the grin on her face. The picture is priceless, and I'm sure the memories are also. Thanks for sharing, and making my day. Glenn

Kemper,
Very nice picture. I wanted to use an A to leave the church, but my happy bride would have had a fit if it were one of mine, since there is no paint on most of them, and what is there is as good as nothing. I note that you both seem to understand that things happen. I hope the car has treated you better since.

Kemper,

Brings back memories of our wedding day, I arrived in the MGA, my best man in the MGB, he left after the wedding to greet the guests at the reception.

The guests and him were getting very worried when we had not turned up after nearly 30 minutes, the reason:-

On leaving the wedding we had stopped at a set of traffic lights and as they turned green I was hit up the back by a small Ford. I got out of the car (in penguin suit) looked at the Ford which had lost it's front bumper, looked at the A, no damage and informed the young lady driving that it was her fault and I had somewhere better to be and I drove off leaving her doing an impression of a Fish.

Half way to the reception the MGA slowly ground to a halt, I could hear the familiar ticking of the fuel pump. Luckily I had a spare gallon of petrol, a few very concerned motorists did stop to offer assistance, but she was fine and off we went...

MG's are great fun.....

Congratulations!
You know, getting married these days, is a political statement.
But then this may have to be transferred to 'Flame Wars'

God bless!

Thanks for the comments guys. That photo was taken in 2000. My MGA is a coupe so I drove a roadster, which belongs to my dad. I also drove it to my graduation in 1993. It sat until my wedding and hasn't been driven since. Because of its hibernation, the MG didn't run well. I was actually late to the pre-wedding dinner becuase hours before the wedding I was robbing plugs and ignition wires from a Fiat to get the MG to run. Following the wedding, I literally had to stuff my wife's dress into the car. We drove around a little before going to the reception. Everyone assumed the car packed in along the way. It was a great day with my one true love...my wife was there too! (Don't worry, she doesn't read these posts!)

"Following the wedding, I literally had to stuff my wife's dress into the car." It could have been worse, our daughter wanted to use her MGBGT as the getaway car, but her new husband didn't know hoe to drive a stick shift, so we have pictures of our daughter, in her wedding dress driving her husband off from the wedding. Great photo, thanks for sharing!

We drove away from our wedding in my '65 B, which was the only Brit car we had at the time. We took a while getting photos taken so everyone assumed the MGB had broken down and actually sent a rescue party to find us!
