MG MGA - New BBS Section. Modiried A&B's

We have a new BBS section for us not so quite pure! Excuse the spelling mistake in the heading!
Gary Lock

You must be really into modifications Gary as you have even "modified" the word!

I think this site needs desperately to consolidate, not expand! It has been steadily losing "business" over the past several years and having so many sub forums is doing more harm than good.

Just my 2.34 cents USD as a fellow webmaster / forum admin.

I agree Steve, the more cupboards you've got, the harder it is to find what you are looking for and the easier it is to forget what you've got.

Gary..agree with comments above. I believe it is best for all us ( modified and unmodiflied..latter is Japanese word!) to stay in the one pot . There is so much in common about mgas irrespective of what transmission/engine or other mod. we choose. I belong to other car sites ( jeep and ford V8 etc ) and they are nightmares to navigate because of the sub groups etc ...The clean simple MGA site, style of discussion, and history tracing is a delight by comparison. My MGA has 5 speed box, single battery, electric fans, judson ( in near future),inertial reel belts, wide tyres, anti sway bar, facet fuel pump, alternator etc etc. I am a philistine modifier as well !!

The other aspect of the is that you're better off with five busy forums than 25 slow ones. I could go into a long speech about the psychology of internet forums, but I won't. ;) However if the site admin would like to have a chat about it, I would be more than happy to offer my own advise.
Steve S

Nothing attracts a crowd line a crowd. When I want information I want to visit the big crowd. If I'm answering questions I don't want to have to look into multiple separate rooms to see who may be there. When I see multiple small crowds I likely check out the large one and entirely skip the rest.

I regularly visit exactly one forum on this server. Moving MGA mod questions to a different forum means you don't want my participation. I'm okay with that if you want to keep it private. Just don't ask me to join another forum. I have too many to monitor already. As far as I'm concerned, the new MGA/MGB Mod forum does not exist.

I tend to agree this forum group does need to be trimmed down. We have forums for so many topis which simply get no traffic.

- Lead fuel substitutes
- Sprintex
- Rust and Restoration
- Fuel prices
- Transport America-Netherlands
- MG QUIZ PAGE
- Horizon
- Questions (what is this one for)
- MG XPower SV (last post 2008)
- Newsletter Editor's Forum (last post 2008)
- Club Officer's Forum (last post 2007)

At least the modified MG page includes both B's + A's so there will be some comments. (Maybe of some people accepted the fact some A's will be evolving into modern versions we wouldnt need this extra forum)

I am going to send this link to the forum administrators to get their opinion.
If others would like to address this issue to post your comments or send directly to the admin.

There's a Britishv8 forum available already, a wealth of info there. Marvin
