MG MGA - Oil filter adapter recommendation

A little quiet around here, so i figured I'd throw out an easy question....

After having my oil filter canister gasket fail at highway speeds at least once a year for the past 3 years, I've decided it's time to switch over to a spin-on adapter. Any thoughts on the one Moss sells? Is there any advantage to installing a remote oil filter instead?

Looking forward to spring driving!

I installed my first spin-on adapter a few decades ago and it came from Moss; never had an issue with it. It was a pleasure not to have to deal with the original cartridge filter, although you still had to underneath to remove the spin-on. Several years ago I switched to an MGB inverted filter design; it still uses a spin-on filter but you access the filter from the top: no more crawling under and its one of the best changes I've made to the car. JK's link to Barney's site does cover this MGB conversion and I've pasted the specific page below:

I have one (UK Moss part number MOC289) and installed it about 15 years ago and never had a problem.
What you need to be careful about is getting the right spin on filter as some "bottom out" when you screw them in and will leak.

Thanks all - sounds like Moss is the way to go. I appreciate the recommendations. Safety Fast!

I've used several of the Moss adapters on MGA and MGB. Never had a problem.

The other advantage of aftermarket upside down canister is the ease to drain the filter prior to removal. Punch a hole in it and it drains into the pan. Take the empty filter off with a plastic bag over it and into the trash.

Just a side observation.

If your standard filter gasket "failed" you should check that there is not an old gasket still in the groove. They can get so hard that they masquerade as cast iron.
