MG MGA - oil pressure gauge

My gauge has started to stick at 0 and at 60, so that when the engine is started, the gauge does not move until I tap the glass, at which it shoots to 60 psi. When I am driving, I have to tap the glass often to get it to show the correct pressure - in the past it would show up to 80psi on cold.

I suspect internal corrosion, but before I start taking it apart (taking the dial off to lubricate it), does anyone have any pictures of the internals (or could anyone take some pictures of a scrap gauge before you send it off for rebuild)

The water part works just fine.

Thanks

Dominic,
I remember reading that air in the line or the bourdon tube inside the gage can cause this.

I don't believe that an air bubble in the oil pressure gauge line would cause this. Both air and oil are fluids and transmit the pressure equally well, with the note that the air compresses A LOT more than the oil. The sensor element (bourdon tube) reacts to (fluid) pressure. I would suspect something sticking in the mechanical linkage or needle pivot mechanism.

Either dirty, or the mechanism has worn to the point it's binding. Air won't cause sticking. Most bourdon tubes have air trapped in them as they're impossible to bleed.
