MG MGA - Paper Weight

Raided my junk box. Slightly damaged piston off my 1800 engine (damaged when fitting 20 years ago). Letters with broken tabs. Bit of super glue. Hey presto. Something for the man cave or paperweight.

Thats really nice Steve, very envious - except I scan all my papers these days and then chuck them - but still envious!

Graham. I got the inspiration from BBC's Bargain Hunt a few days ago. One of the items put up for auction was a Jaguar piston with the leaping jaguar bonnet mascot mounted on top. It went for about £80.

I also have a replica MG Midge mounted on an octagon screw-on radiator cap. Originals go for several hundreds of pounds. I picked up a rough bronze casting at Beaulieu many years ago. I spent weeks filing and smoothing it down; then had it chromed. looks just like the real thing. picture shows it placed just for fun with 'Blue Tack'. Not a permanent feature.

Graham. I had previously used the octagon bezel on the gear stick surround with my Type 9 gearbox and home made gearstick cover.
