MG MGA - Pistons

Perhaps this is an obvious question, but...Having recently torn down the engine on my 1500 rustbucket coupe, and cleaning the top of a couple of the pistons, they both have "57" in small numbers stamped on them (weight in gms?) and the number 2 inside a diamond...best guess is these are 20 over pistons? I haven't mic-ed it yet, which will give me some information, but I thought I would check with the experts..
Thanks, Doug

Doug, the diamond 2 marking is a factory marking to indicate diameter ranges. tHe bores were also similarly marked on the head face, so that pistons could be matched to bores. So it looks like your pistons are original? They weigh more than 57 grams by the way, so that is not weight. Maybe year?
