MG MGA - Rear MGB brakes on MGA

Away back on 05 Jan 05, Carl Heideman noted that MGB backing plates will bolt onto the MGA rear axle and that it's a good switch.
Is it a direct switch? I assume MGB banjo axle brakes would fit more easily on the A.
Is it feasible to put MGB tube axle brakes on an MGA?
(I have more tube axle bits in the shed than banjo axle bits!!)
Thanks for the collected wisdom.

Hi Fraser. A friend of mine bolted and MGB banjo axle into his MGA without difficulty. If you are only installing the MGB drums and the backplate assemblies, you may need to rework the steel brake lines going to the wheel cylinders. Otherwise, it should be a bolt up operation. Cheers Glenn. PS the MGB brakes use a different brake shoe adjustment system than the MGA. THe MGB adjusters are prone to seizure, and should be disassembled and lubed with anti seize compound.

Hi again Fraser. To clarify: I was referring to banjo axle brake parts in my last positng and NOT MGB tube axle parts. Glenn
