MG MGA - REAR PLATE GASKET

The rear engine plate gasket is not cut out where the camshaft ends. This leaves an area of paper gasket exposed to hot oil etc. Should I be concerned that this might disintegrate and plug oilways etc?

No, it's fine, so you can leave it that way. The gaskets have been made that way for many years, and no problem.
