MG MGA - Sorting Brake Calipers

I am about to replace my part worn "Greenstuff" brake pads with some Mintex M1144 material ones. ( I think I have got that number right)

I put the Greenstuff ones on last year in preparation for my trip to the Alps to replace the fairly worn ones that I mistakenly thought were also Greenstuff.

The new pads just didnt have the "bite" of the original ones and the pedal was much more wooden in feel.
Also they created much more dust than I expected and I must admit that I was really disappointed with them. So I am hoping that the M1144 will put the bite back into the braking.

I am going to fit some new discs with the pads to be sure that I get the best out of them.

I have noticed that I get slightly uneven braking with the Greenstuff pads when I first apply the brakes with the car pulling to one side a little.

This seems to even out when the brakes warm up.

I presume that the pistons need cleaning up and lubricating in the calipers but I wondered if anyone had any advice on what to clean up the pistons with and what,if anything, I should use to lubricate them with.

Cheers
